Youth Programs

Swim n Fun | Ages 18—36 mos. | Monday: 10:10—11:30 am
Caregiver and child begin with a 30 minute swim lesson in the warm water pool at 10:10 am. After swimming, EEC teacher Dana Vainauskiene meets the children in the Group Exercise room ready to share educational and multi-cultural experiences through music, games, stories, arts n crafts and movement programs. Limit 10 participants.
8 week session | Optimal Member: $96 Member: $112 Non-Member: $144

Tae-Kwon-Do | Ages 5+ years | Monday: 3:45—4:30 pm
Alison Reyes works on skill building and self esteem in this multi-age class. Students will continue to implement the basics of Korean martial art while enjoying the special bond created when all ages work together. Limit 12 participants. 
 8 week session | Optimal Member: $96 Member: $112 Non-Member: $144

Tumbling | Ages 7+ years | Friday: 3:45—4:30 pm
Sage Campbell has been teaching gymnastics since she was 11 years old at Clipper City Gymnastics and the Newburyport PTO After School program.  Class will focus on fitness, flexibility and basic gymnastic skills.  No previous experience required.  Multi-level. Limit 13 participants.   
 8 week session | Optimal Member: $96 Member: $112 Non-Member: $144

Tween  Yoga | Ages 11+ years | Tuesday: 3:45—4:30 pm
Candy Blaxter, a certified YogaKids Instructor, will lead a fun invigorating yoga class especially designed for Tweens and Teens.  Stress management and relaxation techniques will be taught along with traditional poses.  Yoga mats will be provided.  Please wear comfortable clothing.  Limit 10 participants.

Membership is not required for swim lessons, however, members do receive a discount.  Visit our membership page for more detail on the benefits of becoming a member.  Members who have an optimal wellness plan receive an additional discount!  Whether you choose to become a member or not, you will need to complete an application the first time you start swim lessons.  We recommend you fill in the basic information at home. 

refund & transfers

Prior to the first week of classes, refunds will be given less a $20 administrative fee. Unless changed by the YWCA, there is a transfer fee of $20 Membership dues and joiner fees are not refundable.

cancellation

Each class has a minimum enrollment. If the minimum enrollment is not met, the YWCA has the right to cancel the class. You will be given the option to transfer your child into another class, a credit towards another session or a refund.  When the Newburyport Public Schools close for inclement weather, the YWCA will cancel classes on that day. All such classes will be rescheduled for the same time period during the week immediately following the final scheduled week of classes.
