Kid’s Clubhouse Childcare Provider
Job Class: part time; non-exempt
Work Week/Hours: Shifts as assigned
Description of the Position: The ywca greater newburyport is a membership organization whose mission is to eliminate racism and empower women. Kids Clubhouse drop-in child provider is responsible for providing safe, stimulating, direct care of children in the drop-in facility. Promote the values and mission of the YWCA in all interaction with children, parents and staff.
Duties: Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:
- Recognize and protect children from any hazards that are a threat to their physical safety and their emotional well being;
- Directly nurture and encourage children by providing them with a variety of learning and social experiences appropriate to their age;
- Assist with maintaining the overall condition of your program space that you use on a regular basis (i.e. safe, clean, neat);
- Attend scheduled staff meetings and increase your childcare skills and competence by taking advantage of ongoing training opportunities.
- Provide assistance to After School Licensed Childcare programs as needed on a substitute/availability basis.
Qualifications:
- EpiPen certification (or within 3 months of employment.)
- Current first Aid/CPR Certification (or within 3 months of employment)
- A genuine love of children and a personal commitment to making a difference in their lives.
- Experience working with infants-grade school children and the ability to plan and carry out age appropriate activities and programs.
- The ability to adapt to change, and a self-starter
- Dependable, strong interpersonal skills.
- Outgoing, enthusiastic personality who enjoys working with children and others
- Ability to function as part of a team
It is expected that all program staff will function as self-directed members in a team effort. Your activities and performances should meet appropriate professional standards and adhere to the philosophy and purpose of the YWCA.
